A purpose that really matters

We are proud to lead the transition to a circular plastics economy, focusing on preserving the value of plastic to extend its lifespan. Our choice of advanced sorting and high-quality recycling over downcycling maximizes climate benefits and enables more plastic to be recycled into new products.

This approach not only sets a new global standard for plastic recycling but also inspires pride among our employees, customers, and stakeholders. Together, we’re driving sustainable development, resource efficiency, and world-class innovation.

Our vision is to make all plastic packaging part of the circular economy.

We are owned by our customers

We are a customer-owned, non-profit plastic recycling company, owned by five industry organisations, including those covered by producer responsibility (SFS2022:1274). This means producers must collect and recycle the plastic packaging they place on the Swedish market.

Our owners include IKEM, SPIF, DLF, the Swedish Food Retailers Federation, and the Swedish Trade Federation. IKEA and SPIF hold their shares through the jointly owned Plastbranschens Informationsråd.

Our head office and sorting facility, Site Zero, is located in Motala and employs around 100 people.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide a cost-effective system for advanced sorting and high-quality recycling of plastic packaging. Our vision is that all plastic packaging should be part of the circular economy.

This mission makes us a key player in our customers’ value chains and sustainability efforts.

Commitment Across the Entire Value Chain

The plastic recycling value chain involves many players across industries. To boost circularity and reduce the climate footprint of plastic, we are active throughout the chain.

We support our sorting customers in designing recyclable packaging and engage in various research projects and industry activities. We also collaborate with our recycling partners to ensure sorted plastic is converted into new packaging or products, participating in development projects to improve sorting and recycling technologies.

The value chain is shaped by legislation, and we work closely with politicians and authorities to promote policies that enhance circularity.
